Stockholms Språkskola is a Montessori-inspired school for students in classes 1 through 9.  Our classes are run in both English and Swedish.  The children also have the opportunity to learn French as well as their mother tongue.  By putting emphasis on Montessori learning techniques and the development of foreign language skills, we hope to enhance the children’s opportunities to excel in today’s global society.

We consider ourselves a very cosmopolitan school.  We have students from many different countries from around the world and we encourage all to embrace the cultural mosaic that exists at our school.  Our small class sizes allow us to give the students a lot of attention, and to design a program of study to meet individual needs.

Children in classes 1-3 have the opportunity to attend Fritids, our daycare centre, after regular school hours.  The day care program helps students develop their social skills and the ability to work individually and within groups, in a safe and caring environment.  The students also have the opportunity to get help with homework during this time.

We feel that going to museums, theatres, nature parks and various cultural events is an important aspect of a child’s education.  We like to take advantage of the many educational venues the city of Stockholm offers, and go on numerous fieldtrips throughout the year. 

We provide daily transportation to and from school free of charge.  Our own school buses pick up the children in the morning and drop them off directly at home after school.  We also provide the children with a breakfast before school, a warm lunch and an afternoon snack.  We trust that the meal program, available to all students for free, ensures that children can stay healthy and focused on school-related activities.  The meals are adapted to the needs of children with special dietary requirements.     

Overall, our aim is to create an environment where children feel welcome, and are inspired and motivated to study and to be successful.

Stockholms Språkskola startade sin verksamhet höstterminen 2001, klass F (förskoleklass)
till 9. Vi är en liten skola där ingen är anonym.
Vi bedriver skolbarnomsorg som har ett nära samarbete med skolan.
Fritidshemmet lägger stor vikt vid att främja barnens sociala utveckling. Vi vill att barnen
ska fungera i grupp och acceptera varandras olikheter.
Barnen får ta egna initiativ till aktiviteter och ges stort utrymme för lek.
